I understand - it doesn't feel like now's the time to party.

I guess you could call this a public service announcement...
I run a little costume shop - and right now there's the sound of crickets and rolling tumbleweed and any other metaphor for a dearth of customers that you'd like to mention.
That's OK. My family is in partial lock-down too, catching up with friends online and limiting interactions with other people to what's essential. Better safe than sorry.
But what if you need to hire something. If you're working on a short film, (information about a zombie apocalypse anyone?) or performing online.
Or up-skilling your special effects makeup or wig styling? I'll definitely be on YouTube, learning more, and posting some videos too. I can think of worse ways of using this time than to learn something new.
How do you do that and stay away from the virus? Well...you can order makeup and accessories online from The Littlest Costume Shop (or even hire over the phone) with no contact at all. Most of my sales have been face to face so far, but I'll be working hard to add everything I have to the website. If you need or want to come in - to try something on or try makeup out maybe - there is only ever one person at a time in the studio. The only person you'll be in close contact with is me (and I'll be staying as far away as I can!) so you'll still be social distancing. I've also made the decision that even if a costume has only been tried on and not hired...I'll be washing that costume before another person touches it and I'll be wiping down every surface between customers. If me or any member of my family so much as comes down with a sniffle, The Little Costume Shop will be closed until we're sure it's safe.
So that's the end of the (sort of) public service announcement.... Everybody look after yourself, your families and your neighbours.
And once this crazy coronavirus thing is over I'll be joining you for the biggest party ever.
Stay Well,
Mandy xxx
